Allergan is looking for a needle-free formulation of Botox. In fact, the popular pharmaceutical company is working with American Medical Systems to develop the application. The company is hoping to expand the Botox medical applications to include overactive bladders. And AMS’s JetTouch will be a big step forward in this plan. JetTouch is an injection technology, which allows drugs to be applied without the use of a needle. AMS has yet to gain Food and Drug Administration approval for the technology. Allergan intends to pursue needle-free Botox application for overactive bladders. If the first pursuit is successful, the company intends to seek approval for a new needle-free version of Botox. Both Allergan and AMS did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.
