Botox tax to be removed PDF Print E-mail

The New Jersey legislature has voted to phase out Botax—a 6% tax on cosmetic surgery and elective procedures, like Botox.

The bill is currently on Governor Chris Christie’s desk, waiting for approval.

New Jersey-based cosmetic specialists are one of the strong lobbyists of the bill. These professionals lose patients, who decide to cross the river to get cosmetic surgery to avoid the additional tax.

Lobbyists believe that New Jersey is losing money instead of gaining money due to the tax.
