During the fourth quarter of 2009, Derma Health Institute reported an increase in injectable treatments, like Botox, Dysport, Juvederm, and Perlane.

MEDACorp conducted a recent survey that reported an increase in injectables, which is the first nationwide increase since the recession began.

“Last year our Botox and Dysport business increased by 115% and our Juvederm and Perlane business increased 89%,” said Trish Gulbranson, owner of Derma Health Institute. “This is a positive sign that patients feel like the market is starting to turn around.”

During the recession, many companies improved their services to improve their product. Allergan, for instance, made an effort to increase spending on customer service programs.

Gulbranson explains: “The nice thing about Botox and Juvederm is that they’re a quick fix, minimally invasive and provide instant results. We’ve seen a decrease in the cost of both these products in the last few years. An average woman can get Botox for about $250 and get rid of that ‘angry line’ between their eyes. Juvederm treatments have also decreased in cost to from $600 a syringe to $399. With these, patients come out looking years younger, rejuvenated and relaxed.”
