Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox, has acquired Serica Technologies’ cosmetic and reconstructive surgery unit.

Allergan announced last Thursday that the deal has been finalized. The transaction did not include the rights to Serica’s orthopedic and veterinary products—these have been acquired by Alcer Technologies.

The new unit specializes in making biodegradable scaffolds, which can be used for skin grafting, breast augmentation, and reconstructive surgery.
