A mother from California has filed a case alleging Botox treatments of causing a fatal reaction to her 7-year-old daughter’s body. Her daughter was subjected to Botox to treat the child’s cerebral palsy.
Kristen Spears died three years ago due to respiratory failure and pneumonia. Her mother says that Botox overdose weakened the child’s muscles, which made it hard for Kristen to breathe.
Botox is a famous anti-wrinkle treatment and is also used by some doctors to relax muscles of cerebral palsy patients.
As of press time, Allergan—the manufacturer of Botox—has not commented on the issue.
