Dr. Yan Trokel is the creator of what he calls the Y Lift. It is an in-office cosmetic procedure that says instantly gives a patient a lift with minimal bruising or swelling and no incisions or general anesthesia.
"I call it the Y Lift because I think that the perfect shape of a face is a Y -- a really high cheekbone, a strong jaw line, a taut neck," Dr. Trokel says.
First he uses a laser on the neck that he says stimulates collagen and tightens the skin. Then he strategically marks the face. After numbing the area, he injects filler called Juvederm, which is commonly used and FDA-approved for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds.
The side effects of fillers are rare, but can include things like bruising and swelling or an allergic reaction.
You see the results in about one hour. The procedure costs a little more than $8,000. The results are not permanent; Dr. Trokell says it lasts about 1 to 2 years
