According to Private Healthcare UK, there was a surge in Botox sales in preparation for the US presidential inauguration. Reports suggest that consumers wanted to look their best to give the new administration a youthful boost.
USA Today claimed that many surgeons had a significant increase in demand for non-surgical treatments, because Americans were determined to look good for the inauguration.
In Washington, Tin Alster—a cosmetic dermatologist—told the newspaper that she had been “swamped” with appointments. On the other hand, fellow practitioner Hema Sundaram claimed that patient demands for Restylane and Perlane almost tripled.
“My motivation is to look the very best I can for such a historical event. I’ve flown in to DC from California for this,” said Botox patient Jan Lynch.
Last Christmas, Botox demand also experienced an acute rise. Experts attribute this to the build-up for Christmas Day, which is another event where consumers want to look and feel their best. This was confirmed by statistics from UK’s Harley Medical Group.
The next much-anticipated event is Valentines. So, Botox anyone?
