The right age for Botox PDF Print E-mail

Most Hollywood celebrities, at a certain age, have Botox injections to prevent wrinkles and other marks of facial aging. But, as a consumer you should ask, “At what age is it best to take this treatment?”

Industry experts say it depends on skin condition and perception. Some people age quicker than others, while others are more concerned with smile lines than anything else.

To investigate the matter more, the NY Daily News sent a young woman to four different doctors. The results are quite intriguing. As narrated by Kristen Seymour of Stylist.com,

“The first two doctors she saw were unaware that she was there for research, and both said that Botox would not be a bad idea, with one of them admitting that she had treated a 22-year-old with Botox. The last two doctors knew that she was a reporter doing an article on Botox for young women, and the first still said, ‘For someone like you, who at your young age is already developing those lines, I think Botox would be reasonable.’

It wasn't until the fourth doctor that this young woman, who is frequently carded at bars and occasionally at R-rated movies, was told she was not a candidate for Botox, Juvederm, Restalyne, or any other cosmetic procedure. The moral of the story? Don't rely on just a doctor's opinion -- rely more on how you think you look!

So what do you think? How young is too young for an elective cosmetic procedure like Botox? Would you get it done?”
