In Rio de Janeiro, the Brazilian Society of Esthetic Medicine (BSEM) is offering free Botox injections and other beauty treatments for those who are earning less than $250/month.

BSEM spokesperson Isabel Alvarez says that the program lets student doctors get experience, and gives the poor luxury treatments they cannot afford on a regular basis.

Apart from Botox injections, the program also offers laser hair removal, acne removal, skin peels, and nutritional counseling.

The program was first established in 1998, and since then it has treated more than 10,000 people.
