RejuvaWand Offers Non-invasive Facial Plumping PDF Print E-mail

A company recently released a new product, RejuvaWand, which claims it can stimulate collagen production and add volume to the face diminishing the appearance of wrinkles. The device works by sending infra red and red light into the dermis for a four-minute period of time.

RejuvaWand hasn't gotten approval from the FDA yet, but the maker of the product has applied for clearance.

In a recently released report by the manufacturers, A clinical trial of 36 women showed an average improvement of 13 percent reported by approximately 67 percent of the women tested. The improvement listed better skin texture and decreased facial wrinkles. These improvements get better after 60 days of daily use. After the initial 60 days of use, the treatment must be done twice a week in order to maintain the improvements.

The creators of RejuvaWand don't expect the product to replace professional skin treatments but do feel it is a good option for people looking for real results without any invasively thermal or laser treatments.

Independent medical professionals are skeptical and feel that patients may not find the effects of the RejuvaWand to be significantly better than those provided by facial creams.   And with a price tag of $200, consumers may not be pleased with the inconsistent and insubstantial results of the RejuvaWand.

The final conclusions are that more thorough and detailed studies are required.
