Have you heard? Botox has gone multi-purpose. It is no-longer just for wrinkles and frown lines. It is now used for prostate problems. An injection of Botox through an ultrasound probe goes right into the prostate. Sounds scary, but it could be safer than conventional methods.

“It takes five minutes, it’s very easy, you go home the same day, little bit of local anaesthetic, no time in hospital, no time spent in the surgery center, no time spent in an operating room,” said Dr David Ginsberg, Urologist.

It works like this. The Botox shrinks or kills some of the prostate cells. A year after treatment 90 percent said that they had improved. No more injections were needed.

Make sure you consult with your doctor before trying this procedure, as it is still in the experimental stage.
