New Wrinkle Filler Provides Permanent Solution PDF Print E-mail

Artefill, a new wrinkle filler made from cow collagen and tiny microspheres, has recently made its premiere into the world of plastic surgery but is being met with mixed feelings.

Dr. Mark Hamilton has been using Artefill to provide a permanent solution to wrinkles. Unlike other injections with results that fade over time, Artefill's effects are permanent.   Hamilton suggests his patients try a temporary filler first to become comfortable with the change.

Initially there were some problems with Artefill but recent improvements seem to have all but eliminated the issues. However some doctors just aren't convinced. Dr. Bill Beeson insists that Artefill has not yet perfected and that excess scar tissue could cause problems for future patients.

"One of the problems was it was developing significant scar tissue to the point where 40 percent of people had to have injections of material steroids to help dissolve the scar tissue and have them excised out." Beeson stated.

Beeson is concerned that since doctors are usually compensated for using new products, the results of these doctors may be biased.

If you are interested in Artefill, treatments range from $1000 to $2500 each and several treatments may be necessary.
